I like the Stern show and listen all the time. It is often funny/interesting/entertaining. However...
There is a bullying aspect to Howard and the show I really don't like. The latest example is with Eric and the love doll. I think it's degrading to make a doll in the image of someone against their will in order to perform sex acts on it. And the fact that they keep emphasizing there's nothing he can do about it, makes it even worse. I wonder if some other radio show made a Beth O doll and fucked it while people watched, would Howard think it's funny?
I know Eric isn't the most likable person in the world (I don't particularly like him myself, to be honest). And, yes, he calls into the show by choice, and they got him a role on a tv show, etc. But he is a powerless man with a horrible disease while Howard is a rich and famous radio personality. I can't help thinking of it in those terms

Wed, October 1, 2008 - 8:27 PMBut that's what the show is all about, it about "busting balls". Sure they could have a Lisa G or Beth O doll, but that would be boring (and expected). With ETM, it's funny and personally, I'm lovin' it!
Besides, I'm starting to think it's a bit and Eric is just playing along (unknowingly maybe).
I do have to admit tho, lately he's been really bullying and bustin' balls lately. Look at what happend to Ronnie and Dominick. I think it does have to do with his upcoming wedding. -

Not to ignore the obvious (wedding bell stress) but I think Ronnie kind of took over where Sal left off and Dominick .. well ... was weird today! But yeah, Howard has been OTR lately -

Thu, October 2, 2008 - 4:26 PMWell one has to think of $$..all this Ronnie bashing has a purpose, this is Mund October and they have to sell howard tv with Ronnie..so in order for that to happen, its Ronnie bash to promote it...nothing happens on the show with out $$ being the main goal...

1. There will be no "Eric The Midget real doll" and even if Howard commissions one to be molded there will DEFINATELY be no fucking of the doll (think Beatle Juice bust). Busting balls is all that's going on. And it's funny as hell!

2. "Busting balls" is most of what the show is about. Clowning on and making fun of ... everything! Nothing is sacred really. Think Arties father for example. In fact even Sal the stockbroker has a funny point when referring to Beth O. as a "horseface". Although beautiful and hot she does have a long jawline. I got that and laughed my a** off!
3. You wrote it yourself, "And, yes, he calls into the show by choice ..." Eric is a daily caller who will wait on hold the entire show and may not get on air at all. Eric knows what's up. If he really had a problem with it I don't think he would call at all. In fact I think it's a bit to gain audience "sympathy" since Eric kind of "turned it up" the last few months and has pissed most of us off with his "stuff" ... ingratitude, attitude, etc.
Believe me, Eric's fine.
