Enough with the fucking vacations already! I mean, my God. Enough.

Re: Vacations
Tue, September 8, 2009 - 4:45 AMI know. I mean, we pay for this. So much for Howard and his work ethic.

Re: Vacations
Tue, September 8, 2009 - 5:08 PMI've resigned myself to the fact that he takes a lot of vacations (well...when I'm in a good mood). But I wish they would put up - on either Howardstern.com or Sirius.com - a calendar that says when it's a rerun during the year. That way it wouldn't be such a disappointment when turning him on and expecting a new show. -

Re: Vacations
Tue, September 8, 2009 - 6:10 PMI was surprised to hear him live today. I figured he would of taken the rest of the week off.
In his defense; you have to figure that anyone working at one company for 30 years would have built up a fair amount of vacation time. I know he hasn't *technically* been at once place for 30 years, but radio doesn't allow for that. The place I work at now give 5 weeks of vacation for 25+ years of work, so if you're writing your schedule, wouldn't you tack a couple more weeks on to that? -

Re: Vacations
Tue, September 8, 2009 - 11:59 PMWell, the fact that radio doesn't "allow" for that isn't the point. He hasn't worked at the same company for 30 years. Anyway, he can work out any deal he wants with Sirius; there's nothing set in stone. But it is understandably frustrating for his listeners to hear so many reruns.
And in any event, I stand by what I said that he should post somewhere when he's going to be off, so we don't have to wonder until we actually turn on the radio. -

Re: Vacations
Thu, September 10, 2009 - 9:23 PMI agree. There should be a post on his website if the show is taking a vacation. The only warnings you get are either from him (and that's only a slight mention of it), or from one of the listeners.
I know, and hope, he'll re-up on his contract. My theory is that he'll go to a three day a week broadcast and it'll probably be in the afternoons. At least, I hope that's the way he'll go. Seriously, he really doesn't need to be on at the crack of dawn anymore. -

Re: Vacations
Sun, September 13, 2009 - 5:49 PMYeah, the posting of vacation time on their website is a great idea Jona. The disappointment factor would be much lower for me as well. I was literally shocked when I heard a live show on the Tues. (9/8) following Labor Day Monday (9/7). I thought for sure they'd take another fucking week off. I was starting to fume a little on Labor Day. -

Re: Vacations
Sun, September 13, 2009 - 5:52 PMI can only take so much Mammary Lane. I hate the older shows with Jackie on them. I mean some of it's funny, but what they do on Sirius is so much more progressive now. That's what I want to hear. More importantly, that's what I paid for. I didn't pay for re-runs of the show. -

Re: Vacations
Tue, September 15, 2009 - 1:54 AMYeah, not a fan of the older shows with Jackie, Howard's high pitchy voice and those annoying CLAPPING of hands that went on. As far as I'm concerned, give back those tapes to Infinity. Good thing there's Bubba and decent music channels on SIRIUS, so that evens out the paying factor.
